Date: February 06, 2019

Safer Internet Day
At Mahatma Gandhi Institute (Moka)
Safer Internet Day (SID) is an international education and awareness-raising effort spanning more than 140 countries around the globe to promote safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile phones, especially amongst children and young people across the world. Mauritius is among one of the very first countries where government has taken keen interest to protect children and youngsters on the Internet.

On this occasion, a half day workshop was organised on the 6th February by the Computer Emergency Response Team of Mauritius (CERT-MU) in collaboration with Ministry of Education and Human Resources, Tertiary Education and Scientific Research and Private Secondary Education Authority (PSEA) at the Mahatma Gandhi Institute.
That workshop welcomed students from secondary school students of the island and their teachers. The objective of the workshop was to educate students on the Internet safety, where the focus is to align the talks in line with the “together for a better Internet” theme of this year.
