Safer Internet Day – 6th Feb 2018


Safer Internet Day (SID) is celebrated in more than 100 countries around the globe to promote safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile phones, especially amongst children and young people across the world. 
Mauritius is also among one of the very first countries where the government has taken keen interest to protect children and youngsters on the Internet. The objective of SID is to promote safe, responsible use of the Internet and mobile devices amongst youngsters.

This year, Mauritius celebrates the 8th edition of the Safer Internet Day. On this occasion, the Computer Emergency Response Team of Mauritius (CERT-MU), a division of the National Computer Board organized a workshop with theme “Create, Connect and Share Respect: A better internet starts with you” at Sir Abdool Raman Osman State College, with honorable ministers Yogida Sawmynaden and Leela Devi Dookun-Luchoomun as chief guests.
