“Leading Innovation in Business and Government Services through Artificial Intelligence"

On 13 November 2019, Hon. Deepak Balgobin, Minister of Technology, Communication and Innovation, officially opened a workshop on “Leading Innovation in Business and Government Services through Artificial Intelligence” organised by the Mauritius Research and Innovation Council in colla​boration with the Embassy of the United States of America.


The objective of the workshop was to explore how Artificial Intelligence (AI) could become a cornerstone of the next development model of Mauritius by recognising its potential to improve growth, productivity and the quality of life.

The speaker was Dr. Ragu Bharadwaj, MSc in Systems Thinking from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, and PhD in Biochemistry from Columbia University, USA. His field of expertise is the application of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science algorithms across a range of fields to solve business problems.

123 delegates attended the workshop, 65 from 43 different private sector companies and 58 from 34 public institutions.
