A Computational Model for Flooding in Mauritius
Thursday 15th March at Cyber Tower1 (Ebène)

The Mauritius Research Council (MRC), operating under the aegis of the Ministry of Technology, Communication & Innovation, has recently initiated a program involving application of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) techniques to assist in developing solutions to address the consequences of the flash floods which the country has been facing lately.
The Council has adopted a flood model which has been calibrated and validated by means of four case studies in flood prone areas. The seminar was organised to disseminate the methodology, validation strategy and simulation results obtained in these flood prone regions.
The Hon. Sawmynaden, Minister of Technology, Communication and Innovation and his colleague Hon. Bodha, Minister of Public Infrastructure and Land Transport, were the chief guests for this seminar.
