Official launching of a two-day workshop on cybercrime and cybersecurity policies and strategies...

It was on the 6th of June, at the MRC headquarters in Ebene.

The event is organised by the Ministry of Technology, Communication and Innovation (MTCI) in collaboration with the Council of Europe in the context of the GLACY+ (Global Action on Cybercrime) Project.
The project aims at strengthening the capacities of states worldwide in applying legislation on cybercrime and electronic evidence and enhancing their abilities for effective international cooperation while ensuring compliance with international human rights standards and the rule of law.
In his speech Minister Sawmynaden pointed out that, as societies are transformed by information and communication technologies, the security of ICT systems has become a policy priority of many Governments having in mind the obligation to protect people and their rights against cybercrime and to bring offenders to justice.
In this endeavour, Government wants to position Mauritius as a leading and secured ICT location in the African region.
