Cybersecurity Capacity Maturity Model Workshop

Date: February 13, 2019

Cybersecurity Capacity Maturity Model Workshop
Hennessy Park Hotel, Ebène on the 13th February 2019
The aim of this workshop was to increase scale and effectiveness of cybersecurity capacity-building, by gaining a more comprehensive understanding of the cybersecurity capacity landscape. It allows the review of current national cybersecurity capacity maturity and be used to build business cases for investment and expected performance enhancements.

The Global Cyber Security Capacity Centre (GCSCC) at the University of Oxford is a leading research centre for effective cybersecurity capacity-building across the world, promoting an increase in the scale, pace, quality and impact of cybersecurity capacity-building initiatives globally.
This is important so that governments and enterprises can adopt policies and make investments that have the potential to significantly enhance safety and security in cyberspace, while also respecting core human rights’ values and interests, such as privacy and freedom of expression. The GCSCC has developed the Cybersecurity Capacity Maturity Model for Nations as a model to facilitate the assessment of the maturity of a country’s cybersecurity capacity.
It reviews cybersecurity capacity across five dimensions: Cybersecurity Policy and Strategy; Cyber Culture and Society; Cybersecurity Education, Training and Skills; Legal and Regulatory Frameworks; and Standards, Organisations and Technologies.
