Workshop on 'From Cyber Island to Smart Mauritius'
The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology is partnering with Emtel Ltd in a number of Knowledge Series Initiatives which seek to bring together stakeholders from both public and private sector organisations for discussions regarding policy, lessons learnt, best practices, and forward thinking around emerging technologies.
The next workshop will be on the theme “From Cyber Island to Smart Mauritius” and will be held on 12 June 2014 at Cyber Tower 1, Ebène.
To achieve its ambition of joining the high income countries, Mauritius has to transform itself into a SMART economy. Today’s and tomorrow’s business environment, whether public or private, is/will be increasingly dependent on SMART ICT based technologies. The forthcoming workshop seeks precisely to: (i) lay the foundation stones towards a SMART economy and (ii) proactively address potential threats by allowing sharing of knowledge, insights and best practices on Cyber Security, disaster recovery and business continuity through a collaborative Public-Private-Partnership.
The mechanism to better understand the prerequisites of transforming Mauritius into a SMART economy through building on sustainable innovation will also be on the agenda.
Besides inspiration and knowledge sharing, participation in the event will also facilitate networking for new business opportunities and collaborations.
