In line with Section 34 of the ICT Act, as amended, the Information, Communication and Technologies (ICT) Advisory Council has been constituted as follows:

The function of the Council is to advise the Minister on any matter relating to -

​     (a)    the promotion of the interests of consumers, purchasers and other users in respect of –
(i)    the quality and variety of information and communication services including
        telecommunication services provided;telecommunication services provided;
(ii)    the information and communications equipment including telecommunication equipment
        and facilities supplied;
(iii)  the effect of tariff policy adopted by the Authority;
 
(b)    the promotion of research into, and the development and use of, new information and 
         techniques including telecommunication techniques;techniques including telecommunication 
         techniques;techniques;
(c)    the improvement of information and communication services including Telecommunication 
         services;
(d)    Information and communication technologies including telecommunications which, in its   
         opinion, should be referred to the Minister; and
(e)    Information and communication technologies including telecommunications which may be
         referred to it by the Minister or by the Authority.
